Journey
Join a Church
‘Church’ is Jesus’ idea to strengthen His followers, help them become more like Him, and be equipped to impact their world. When we gather regularly, we grow consistently.
Read the Bible
The living Word of God. The Bible is God speaking to us, here and now.
Not sure where to start?
Try the books or Mark or John. These are biographies of Jesus from people who heard His teachings and saw the miracles. If you need to know anything, it is about this person named, “Jesus”.
Talk to someone at your new church about what to do after!
Start to Pray
Prayer is a conversation with God. Like all good conversations, it is two-way.
You have a direct line straight to God, and God will speak to you. This will rarely be a verbal memo, but you will know. Jesus says that His people “hear my voice” (John 10:27); it may be a case of recognising it.
See Matthew 6:5-14 for a model prayer that Jesus gave.
The Holy Spirit and the church will guide you in this.
Just ask.
Get Water Baptised
As an act of identifying with the death and resurrection of Jesus, we symbolically die to the sin He defeated and rise again to new life, as He did (Rom. 6:1-13).
This is a public act done in the context of the church community. A mutual celebration and joining together through the person of Christ.
See your local church to start the conversation.

FAQs
Common questions you might have about faith, prayer, church life, and next steps.
-
When Jesus would invite someone to follow Him, they would literally leave behind whatever they were engaged in, and follow in His footsteps; go where He went and assist Him in what He was doing.
This is the life of a disciple of Jesus. What an exchange!
We get to leave behind lesser things, and are invited to be transformed to act and think like Jesus, helping do His work on Earth. Saved by His gift of grace, now, through daily devotion and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, we’ll follow Him where He goes and see His Kingdom come to Earth (Matt. 6:10).
“2 He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world…
5 Those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. 6 Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.” -
Starting Point: Daily following Jesus is less about mastering religious activities and more about developing habits that keep us attentive and surrendered to Him:
Prayer
Scripture (Bible)
Belong to a Church
Obedience to what God asks
Priority: Belong to a Church.
When you belong to a church, you have people to ask all your questions to. People to pray with you. People to show you how to read Scripture. No matter how much content is available online, that won't discipline you. People disciple people.
Get to church and get honest. Keep turning up. God will help you through people.

When you find out who Jesus is, His gift of grace, the life available to you, the only reasonable response is: “I have to tell someone!”
The most powerful tool you have is your testimony.
You don’t need to know everything about the Bible or be an eloquent speaker; you can just tell people about what God has done in your life.
Your story is the most potent and authentic demonstration of God you have. God will bless your words as you speak.
Remember: You are not responsible for their response, only your obedience in sharing.
